TIn celebration of 35th Anniversary, IOCARIBE held an International Marine Science Conference 24-25 April 2017 in Cartagena Colombia. The overarching question for the Conference was “Development & Evolution of Marine Sciences over three Decades and the contribution of IOC-IOCARIBE for the Foreseen Future.” The themes include 1) Climate Change in the Marine Environment; 2) Collection of and Access to Oceanographic Data; 3) Early Warning Systems and Services; 4) Capacity Development using the IOCARIBE Experience to build an effective strategy for the 21st Century; 5) Marine Biodiversity as indicator of Ocean Health; and 6) Assessment and Information for Policy. More than 140 experts, scientists and young researchers from 20 countries participated in the Conference.
